Indoor balls are firmer, heavier and built for a fast, predictable flight on a wooden court. Beach and outdoor balls are a touch larger, lighter and softer with a weather-resistant cover so wind and bare forearms are less of a problem. NFHS covers US high school play, USAV and NCAA cover club and college, and FIVB is the international standard.
